Project Description:

For the past two years I have used Pinterest as an educator. I have found so many great resources, collaborated with other educators and enhanced the overall student learning in my classroom. Although this past year as a grade level we did not meet Value Added our 6th grade students as an entire grade went from a 74% passing rate to an 84% passing rate on the Math Ohio Achievement Assessment. I truly believe that the resources I have found on Pinterest impacted my students growth. In addition, as a teacher I wanted to easily bookmark ideas, search for ideas and resources and Pinterest seemed like the perfect fit! By using the visual bookmarks and creating boards you are easily able to access the websites and resources in a timely and organized manner.

What is Pinterest? Below the vocabulary you need to know if defined for you in this video!

How you can use Pinterest as an educator and an inside look into my Pinterest account.

Content Uses of Pinterest:

I believe that Pinterest can be used through out various grade levels as well as different content areas. With the age requirement being 13 years of age or older I would use this more at the high school level. However, as an educator you can use Pinterest for any grade level or content area. This final video gives you ideas of how you can use Pinterest in the classroom.
